What was originally intended to be a 4.5 month residency became nine months on public display while processing a deconstructed piano.

In 2013, Maureen Booth had a request. She would donate and deliver her late husband’s heirloom piano in exchange for a small sculpture made from its parts. When the piano arrived it was too stunning to immediately disassemble, so I planned a three-week durational performance, during which the piano was publicly deconstructed at the American University Museum.
